Construction Skills Map answers one question: where do I start?
For students, career-changers, and adult learners looking to build a career in construction, the training that could get them there is real, it is close by, and it is almost impossible to find. Programs sit scattered across community colleges, technical centers, apprenticeships, and high school academies, described in different language by every institution that offers them and gathered in no single place. Someone ready to start often gives up before they find the school two towns over that teaches exactly what they were looking for.
ConstructionSkillsMap.org brings them together — a free, public map of more than 3,000 verified programs nationwide, searchable by place, trade, and credential. No account, no fee, no catch.
Because every path into construction starts with knowing your options, this is where students find their path in.

Who’s behind this
A national directory of construction training does not fund itself, and it does not get built by accident. This one exists because three organizations decided the shortage of skilled trades talent was worth doing something about — and then did it.
Funding
National Housing Endowment
The platform is made possible by a grant from the National Housing Endowment, the philanthropic arm of the National Association of Home Builders, through its Homebuilding Education Leadership Program (HELP) — a grant program dedicated to increasing the number of qualified graduates entering the home building industry.
That support is what makes this a public resource rather than a product. Every student who uses this map, and every school listed on it, benefits from the Endowment’s decision to invest in the front door of the industry rather than only in its rooftops.

Eric Holt, Principal Investigator
Professor of the Practice at the University of Denver’s Franklin L. Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management — the only school of its kind in the nation. Eric brings 28 years of industry experience and research on construction affordability and workforce shortages to the project.
The questions this map is built to answer are the ones he has spent a career studying: where the workforce comes from, what stands in its way, and what it costs everyone when the pipeline runs dry. This platform was designed and built by Strategem, a consulting and technology firm for the construction industry, led by operators with decades inside homebuilding and supply chain.
